When i was in 1st grade, age 6. My family lost a great person, my little brother Matthew Lee Scheffert at the age of 1. At that age i didn't really understand it. I didn't cry. When i think about it i wasn't really sad either. i remember my dad and i sitting in the waiting room and him crying his eyes out because he lost his son and all i did was hand him the Kleenex box.
If i had been older like i am now i would've been crushed just as my father was. Everyday i always wonder how would life had been with Matthew around. would he be into horses just like me? would he be in sports? what is his favorite color?
A dear friend of mine went through what i would call the worst. she lost her father, if i lost my dad i don't think i would be able to go anywhere for weeks he has made such a impact on my life. as my friend went through this hardship she still was somewhat herself. she still smiled. made me smile. and as i would say moved on through it all. something i wouldn't be able to do.
She is the strongest person i know and i always try to be as great of person as she is all the time. i am so blessed to have her in my life and to call her one of my very best friends! she is like my "sister" i never had. we talk about boys quite a bit... :) ha <3 her tons
Then there is this boy.. he is def like a brother to me. he always just seems to understand! he is everything i would hope my brother would've been. he cares like no other boy has ever cared for me other then my dad. when i am having a bad day a text from him just makes it all better.
His hugs are the greatest! after i got my state degree for FFA someone taps me on the shoulder. Congratulations! i hear and am pulled into a huge bear hug. that is what topped it off for me that night. later i thanked him for the great hug and the congrats. he knew how hard i had worked. his reply to me...
"Your worth it"
the next best thing God has brought into my life. a brother :)
Thank you to the two best people in the world who always make my day 100 times better just by being you. You have touched me and helped me grow in so many ways and even though we are all going to different schools next year i hope our bond never fades..
